About the Actor

Portia Cue was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was humbled
to have been elected class president from high school freshman to
senior years. She moved on to receive a master's degree in theater
arts from the famed The New School 'Actor's Studio' MFA program.

In graduate school, Portia trained at the Alvin Ailey School of
Dance. Shortly after graduating from The New School, she landed a
co-starring role in 'Ghetto Dawg', a Lions Gate runaway urban indie
filmwork rented around the world.

She has performed at the Geffen and Pasadena Playhouses in
California; and, in New York, at the former downtown Circle in the
Square theater.

Portia performed in the stage adaptation of 'The Bluest Eye' to
consistently sold-out performances at Atlanta's Horizon Theatre
Company of which cast was nominated for "Best Ensemble" by the
2007 Suzi Bass Awards committee.

She is a member of the Big City Burlesque & Vaudeville troupe
playing the sweet and petulant Creola of New Orleans to the lovable
voodoo queen, Madame Deveaux, to Dorothy Dandridge, in-tribute.

Portia appeared in the truth-based Samuel Goldwyn film 'American
Violet' as Laquathia, a smart-mouthed and soft-hearted prison
convict, directed by Tim Disney starring Alfre Woodard, Charles
Dutton and Xhibit.

Portia is currently represented by Atlanta's People Store agency.
